Healthcare

As an emergency room physician, healthcare is a topic close to my heart. I have seen firsthand how our healthcare system fails too many Americans. I am committed to addressing the challenges and fighting every day to ensure that Americans have access to quality, affordable care.

Healthcare expenditures in the United States have gone up exponentially in the last 60 years. This out-of-control growth is a serious problem that places a heavy burden on families and individuals across our country. There’s too much bureaucracy, too much red tape, and not enough accountability. We need to deregulate healthcare significantly and find a true free-market solution.

Drug prices are unreasonably high, driven in part by unfair practices within the broader pharmaceutical industry. Promoting transparency and real competition is crucial to help lower costs and improve access to medications. I am a proud cosponsor of the PBM Reform Act, which aims to protect patients from the harmful practices of pharmacy benefit managers and a vertically integrated industry that too often prioritizes profit over care.

As a Member of the GOP Doctors Caucus, I am focused on promoting policies that support our nation’s hardworking healthcare professionals. I have been and will remain a strong voice for the physician community. You may be interested to know that I am a cosponsor of the Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act, which protects seniors’ access to quality care and supports the providers who make that care possible.
