Congressman Rich McCormick Visits Georgia State Capitol

ATLANTA, GA — Congressman Rich McCormick visited the Georgia State Capitol this week, engaging with state legislators and leaders. The visit reinforced the importance of strong collaboration between state and federal leaders as Georgia prepares to set its legislative priorities during the legislative session. 

During his visit, Congressman McCormick met with Georgia Lieutenant Governor, Burt Jones and House Speaker Jon Burns to discuss groundwork for the state’s 2026 legislative agenda, shared opportunities for Georgia, and how locally enforced policies can inform an effective federal framework. He also addressed the Georgia Senate floor and was formally recognized on the House floor, underscoring the strong partnership between Georgia’s congressional delegation and state legislators. Congressman McCormick later met with state representatives and senators from Georgia’s 7th Congressional District to discuss district priorities and continued collaboration to better serve their constituents.

“It was an honor to welcome Congressman McCormick to visit the Georgia House this week,” said Georgia Speaker of the House Jon Burns. “He understands the issues that matter most to Georgia families, and we look forward to our continued partnership as we work to keep our state the best place in the nation to live, work and raise a family for generations to come.”

After the visit, Congressman McCormick reflected on his visit and emphasized how important these partnerships are.
