CALLING ALL ARTISTS: The Congressional Art Competition is underway!

Each year, high school students from around the country have the opportunity to submit artwork for the Congressional Art Competition. Students submit one piece of artwork to their Member of Congress, where one painting from the district is selected to be displayed in the United States Capitol for one year. The winning student, accompanied by a parent or guardian, is then honored with a reception in the district, as well as at a national awards reception in Washington, D.C. |
The Congressional Art Competition seeks to cultivate a society where students feel encouraged to pursue their artistic gifts and develop their skills. Since beginning in 1982, the nationwide art competition has had over 650,000 high school students participate, and the winning artwork is viewed by millions of visitors to the United States Capitol. I am looking forward to all of the submissions from Georgia’s 6th district! |
