Rep. McCormick Votes to End Vax Mandate

February 2, 2023

WASHINGTON--Doctor Rich McCormick (R-GA) has voted for the Freedom for Healthcare Workers Act, which rescinds the federal vaccine mandate for healthcare workers, and the Pandemic Is Over Act, which ends the US government's "state of emergency" for COVID-19. Both bills successfully passed the House of Representatives.

Dr. McCormick delivered a floor speech in defense of healthcare workers and rejecting government intervention, which may be viewed here.

"As an ER doctor, I treated thousands of people during the Covid-19 pandemic," said Dr. McCormick. "I had a front-line view of the struggles of hardworking families and the heroism of my fellow doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. I also saw our federal government jump into action with the best of intentions, only to get tangled in a mess of mandates, censorship, and faulty science. We need to get rid of ill-advised government mandates and allow the people who practice medicine to make their own medical decisions, not Washington politicians."

The Freedom for Healthcare Workers Act passed the House 227-203

The Pandemic Is Over Act passed the House 220-210
